
This lone tree at Buttermere in the Lake District is a real beauty.
The lake was very full of water on the day of this shot - the tree is normally on the edge of the shore but here it was quite a way out into the lake.
As you can see from the photo, it was extremely windy (approx 50mph) and the top of the tree was really moving about blurring the branches on this long-exposure photo. The main problem was keeping the tripod still during the 15 second exposure time.

I've no plans to give up architecture however and, photographically speaking, I enjoy the freedom that being an amateur brings where I have the luxury of taking photos solely for myself.
