Despite the lousy weather forecast for what was supposed to be a very wet and stormy Winter morning, first light at Perch Rock lighthouse on the Wirral peninsula on Saturday was absolutely spectacular.
It was one of those occasions when it was a real joy to a be a landscape photographer.
An hour or so after taking this photo the weather started to close in and the lighthouse was framed by a succession of rainbows. It was truly a memorable morning to be out with a camera.
