The distinctive shape of the prows of a group of gondolas on a canal in Venice.

The 30kg metal prow (ferro) of the gondola is not just there for ornament, it's weight helps to counterbalance the weight of the gondolier at the other end.

I see my virtual key board replaced Gondela with another word. The color black has a long and varied history with these boats. Some of those interpretations seem to carry over to B&W photography. I wish I would have had more time there, it's a lovely city. I hope you captured some photos of love locks that adorn the area.
