"Library of Birmingham"

Posted by
Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 27 September 2013 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

Here at Aminus3 we have a jointly shared passion for Photography and it is a wonderful thing isn't it!

Over the last 6 years photography has made such a huge difference to the way in which I use my eyes and it has really helped me appreciate the beauty that can be found in the simplest of everyday scenes.

This photo shows a simple but beautiful play of light and shadow across the floor of the new city library in Birmingham but I know that 6 years ago I wouldn't even have noticed it.

After spending an hour or so in this wonderful building with my camera I spent the rest of the day with a smile on my face.

How many of you also feel that photography has enriched your life?

Ian Smith from London, United Kingdom

I still remember when you started out with your little Fujifilm compact - and the incredible pace at which you mastered techniques and established a unique personal style and skill since you got your first Nikon DSLR... and you prove an inspiration to any aspiring photographer as to how quickly you can master your tools and ways of seeing the world through your eyes and a lens. And many of us owe you a huge thank you to how freely you share so many of these techniques and skills to help us take steps forward on our own path.
This is yet another magnificent capture of the simplest of scenes captured and framed in a way that turns it into a compelling visual story and work of art.
I sometimes wish my eye's had an in-built digital sensor and every blink captured some of the things I could not get a camera ready for... : )

@Ian Smith: The Fuji forum at DPR seems such a long time ago - time has flown by.
