Marie LC from Entre montagnes et Bretagne, France

A very funny picture. The small stomach of the man is almost as round as his balloons.

Lovely street shot (I can't remember the last time when I saw a street shot coming from your camera, Ian!).

Very evocative title.
The mood in the picture is very representative of what we hear here about the actual ambiance in Athens.

It's Athens, Greece, no wonder his face looks like shit. Poor bloke.

Jerry from Aberdeen, United States

there is a nice mystic about this urban b&w photo, and from the looks of the man he sells many balloons.

Works for me! Lovely contrast between his demeanour and product. A successful, stylish diversification here.

Brilliant, great street portrait and when you know the location it adds another level to the image.

great photo! the composition and tonal range are as always superb - i like the wavy pavement pattern here the most - it almost threw me of balance and made the scene vibrate in front of me before realising these were not optical distortions!

The pooh bear balloon and the sellers expression make the shot.

He must sell a lot of those balloons to feed that tummy :) Nice b&w.

I like the way the lines guide the eye through the composition.

Such a depth of feelings in this contrasted humain portrait, bravo - it says so much of their situation, doesn't it ?
