Buttermere Lake, Cumbria

Posted by
Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 23 March 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

A misty and very wet day at Buttermere in the Lake District National Park

A 4 second exposure using a 6 stop nd filter - not easy with my wide angle lens as the lens hood is not very deep and the rain kept getting onto the filter and blurring the image.

NIKON D700 4 seconds F/16.0 ISO 200 20 mm (35mm equiv.)

Ian, great image. The tones are fantastic. The over hanging tree looks like black lightning coming from the sky trying to interact with the hill side.
