Basalt Black

Posted by
Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 25 January 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

A close-up photo of one of the distinctive black basalt rocks that edge the beach at Dunstanburgh in NE England.

I liked the bird's footprints that have been left behind in the sand.

@Marie LC: Thanks Marie!

Lovely shot which works well in the square frame.

@shooter: Thanks...I've been shooting quite a lot recently with a square format in mind. I'm lucky that my Nikon D700 has a set of square guidlines in the viewfinder which makes it easy to visualise.

Really enjoy this one Ian. Agreed the square format enhances the image, and it wouldn't work without the bird tracks.
