DULCIE from Danville, CA, United States

A photo of sleek stark beauty and great mystery...when the image came on my screen I immediately thought of a Daphne du Maurier novel taking place in just such a setting.

Hans ter Horst from Ruislip, United Kingdom

Excellent high-contrast black and white that really creates a beautiful and mysterious atmosphere partly caused by the (your?) footsteps leading up to the house

@Hans ter Horst: Thanks Hans!....I'm usually careful when I'm on soft ground not to leave footprints in a place where I'm going to take a photo but I think I was 'guilty' with this one as its a photo I took on my way back from a long walk down the beach

Marie LC from Entre montagnes et Bretagne, France

I like atmosphere of this place. I would like to live so in a house which is in front of the sea, in the only noise of the surf of waves

There's a desolation feel i love here, so soft & real & poetic at the same time, and i enjoy the repartition of velvetesque blacks in the foreground & white with the house & sky.
