One of my photos from Blackpool Beach was shortlisted for Digital Photo and Practical Photography magazines annual photographer of the year competition in the 'stunning scenics' round. The magazines have their own website and you can watch their slideshow with the judge's commentary on the shorlisted images here.
The original image is one which I took while out on a day's photography with Mike Spriggs and John Leech who both have photoblogs here at AM3. Mike was also shortlisted in the competition with this b&w photo from Lyme Regis
This is the same round of the competition that I won last year with this power station photo

Update on the photoblog:
I'm recovering well from the operation that I had 2 weeks ago and I'm back at work now although I still can't walk very far or lift anything. Also, my camera is still with Nikon for repairs so it'll be a quite a while before I can show you any new photos.
I'm hoping to bring out a book of my black and white fine art photos later this year so I've been going back through my older archive images and reprocessing a few of them afresh to b&w. As I don't have much thats new to show you, if it's okay with you I might show you a few of these reprocessed photos over the next few weeks.
Like what you see here and are interested in photographic composition?.....the blog section of my website now has a complete set of 5 articles covering my personal approach to the subject: Ian Bramham Photography - Blog
For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to my website Ian Bramham - Fine Art Photography where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo.
