A snapshot that I took with my camera phone while on site at the new Liverpool Museum last week.
The museum is the largest to be built in the UK in the last 100 years or so. It is in it's fit-out stage and looks to be well on track for it's planned opening in July this year.
The iphone 4 has a surprisingly good 5mp camera with excellent quality low-compression jpegs and the 35mm equivalent of a 30mm lens.
There's very little processing on this photo apart from a conversion to B&W.
Technical info:
Exposure 1/160 second
Aperture f/2.8
Focal Length 30 mm (35mm equivalent)
ISO Speed 80

@Claus Petersen: Thanks Claus!....I think the quality of camera phones has finally reached the point where they are as good as dedicated (low-end) compact cameras. The big advantage is of course that we all carry a mobile phone around with us these days so we always have a camera with us.
The camera on the iphone 4 that I used to take this shot is a lot better than the one on my last smartphone which was a HTC HD2. The jpegs from the HTC had a lot of high compression blockiness whereas I think the iphone 4 shots should enlarge really well.
@Ian Smith: Hi Ian, I was simply there to quote for an element of the fit-out work on phase 2 (nothing to do with the original design).
I don't think any camera phones would be much use in low light but in good light conditions like in this photo the latest ones are easily as good as low end dedicated compact digital cameras.
