@Gérard Beullac: Thanks Gérard!,....yes, you are right. It was photographed at dusk about half an hour before sunset. The hotel is on the edge of the beach with a steep hill just behind it called the 'Great Orme' (or 'Pen y Gogarth' in Welsh). The Grand Hotel is the last place to catch the sun before it dissapears.
@Marie LC: You should pay a visit to the Welsh coast one day Marie. I'm sure you'd love it and there are far fewer tourists than in France. There were only a couple of people on the beach when I took this photo.
