Lovely image. The reflection dissipating into black is exquisite. Did you add the noise there because the top is clean? The BW conversion as always is masterful.

@tim: Hi answer your question (and Punit's) - yes, the noise in the water is added. The problem with misty shots like this is that they don't hold up very well to post processing even when shot as a 14 bit Raw file. I darkened the water on this shot in PP which led to some banding which I got rid of by adding the noise.

Edit - I've just had a closer look at the full size image and although there is some grain in the water area it is not very strong and I suspect what you are seeing is actually the ripples of the surface of the water.

The fog makes the wonderful atmosphere.

absolutely brilliant!! inspirational! I am wondering if you are planing to put together all or at least some of your photographs into a book. Would love to know.

@sunstone_maria: Hi Maria - yes, I'm hoping there will be a book of my best B&W photos out this summer. I need to wait until then as I have entered one of my favourite photos into an international competition which is due for judging in July. One of the competition rules is that previously published images are not allowed so I need to hold off on the book for a while longer.

It's not hard to imagine a man named Winston hard at work in one of those buildings, tossing paper into an incinerator chute.
