Salford Quays in the Mist

Posted by
Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 13 October 2010 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

An photo from the area of Manchester near my office. This is the Manchester Ship Canal with "The Lowry" theatre and art gallery in the background shrouded in mist.

Thanks to all those of you who came along to the North Cheshire Photographic Society in Poynton last night.....the room was packed so I hope you all managed to find seats!

That was the first time I've ever given a talk about my photography so I hope it wasn't too amateurish or boring.

That lonely swan really gives this image a surreal mood, nicely spotted.

Great atmosphere, but the swan sharp is great. Optical illusion? - if I stare at it for awhile its almost as if the fog is coming and going, the building becomes more/less distinct.
