"Another Place"

Posted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 16 June 2010 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

A photo from Crosby Beach showing some of Antony Gormley's life size cast iron statues.

Photographed using a 50 year old medium format fim camera - a Minolta Autocord loaded with Ilford XP2 Super 400 film.

@Marie LC: Thanks Marie!

Céline from Paris, France

Great shot yeah, I love the repetition of the character, and the picture is great in b&w

@Céline: Thanks Céline!....there are 100 of these life size statues spread out over the beach and they make up a beautiful work of art. Every time I go there they are different depending on the weather, the light and the tides.

If you look carefully you can see a little glint of light on the wrist of the statue....each one wears stainless a steel wrist band inscribed with it's individual number.

I would love to visit this beach some day. I am also tempted to get my old medium format camera out and have some fun with it.
