First Light

Posted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 1 February 2010 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Photographed in the hour after dawn at Morecambe Bay. The light was wonderful and I've got a few photos from this part of the bay that I'd like to show you over the coming week.

Like what you see here and are interested in photographic composition?.....the blog section of my website now has a complete set of 5 articles covering my personal approach to the subject: Ian Bramham Photography - Blog

MK from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Very strong image. I wonder how u do it. I always got sort of subtle contrasts with sunrise shots.

1 Feb 2010 7:19am

@MK: Thanks! answer your question I always add contrast when I'm converting my photos to B&W and also the sun was fully above the horizon when I took this shot. Up here in the north of England dawn and dusk are very gradual affairs so there's usually quite a lot of time when the light is good.
