Ted from South Wales, United Kingdom

Wonderful shot Ian...great tone & lighting...with the filter?

27 Oct 2008 7:44am

@Ted: Thanks Ted....It's a while since I took this photo so I can't remember if I used the 10 stop nd filter or not. Looking at the exif, however, makes me think that it probably wasn't used on this one

Tilala from France

Surréaliste, une ambiance presque fantastique !

27 Oct 2008 7:50am

@Tilala: Thanks Tilala....it's amazing the effect that capturing the movement of clouds will make to an otherwise very simple photo.

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Holy Sky! the circle of light around the bridge seems to be throwing jets all over the sky...brilliant image, so glad your equipment is back on its feet ;)

27 Oct 2008 8:07am

@Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine....yes it's great to get my laptop back but I can't see myself going back to posting a new photo every day as it's too much for me at the moment. I'm trying a lot of long exposure photography at the moment which means I'm taking a lot fewer photos than I used to.

27 Oct 2008 9:34am

@Marie: I've always loved n&w photos (noir & white for all you franglais speakers out there who get as puzzled as me by photo jargon :-)

The first time I saw N&B (noir & blanc) it had me really puzzled but I got this N&W reference straight away :-)

And this time the boat is just where I would like it be :p

Standing ovation, Ian. The elements of the sky/clouds, b/w conversion, to the lights on the bridge with the beached boat to anchor the whole image is magnificent.
