Sunrise at the LouvrePosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 24 June 2009 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. A winter sun rises above the rooftops to light up the pyramidal glass entrance of the Louvre in Paris. This is a photo from the archives taken on a trip to Paris last Christmas. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

Mirko Herzner from GermanyWhat an unusual combination, Ian. Not many people/photographers will have seen Louvre this early i nthe morning. A beautifully composed shot which shows a lot of this impressive pyramid and its structures... 24 Jun 2009 6:02am @Mirko Herzner: Thanks Mirko!....With it being in winter the time wasn't too bad although there were very few people about! Hoshisato from Ealing, United KingdomExcellent, so many people have photographed the pyramids but still you manage to make it your own. 24 Jun 2009 6:11am @Hoshisato: Thanks Hoshisato.....sometimes it's as simple as being in the right place at the right time! Aaron Schmidt from Auckland, New ZealandWish you had been there when we had our Aminus3 Meetup in Paris last year. Your take on these traditional tourist spots is something quite unique. F22 is brave (looks like you might have a couple of dust spots or is that lens flare) but it works and so does the wide angle. Great shot. 24 Jun 2009 10:27am @Aaron Schmidt: Thanks Aaron!....I don't know how I missed those dust spots. I suspect the f22 was an accident as I had been doing some long exposure photography down by the Seine just before this shot. @Luca Bobbiesi: Thanks Luca! @GJC: Thanks GJC! @Mags: Thanks mags! Anna.C from LA ROCHELLE, Francebeautiful original angle of view and magic light ! 24 Jun 2009 12:30pm @Anna.C: Thanks Anna! hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongSuch magnificent building form, lovely blue sky and that inspiring early morning light... what a beautiful moment you've captured! Ian, love your colour rendering just as much as your b&w conversion!:-) 24 Jun 2009 2:42pm @hugo poon: Thanks Hugo! Stu from Kyoto, JapanThis is magnificent Ian. Lovely gradation of colours at the top contrasting nicely with the pyramid. I didn't notice the dust spots but, like Aaron, did wonder about the f22. 24 Jun 2009 3:17pm @Stu: Thanks Stu! Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United StatesGreat lighting and geometry in one image. Bravo! 24 Jun 2009 3:59pm @Viewfinder: Thanks Glenn! Tammy-Cricket from United StatesOh...this is just the perfect angle. Lovely symmetry. 24 Jun 2009 5:44pm @Tammy-Cricket: Thanks....it's a very photogenic building! @Stefan: Thanks Stefan! @Ian Smith: Cheers Ian! @Daryl Johnson: Thanks Daryl!.....I think winter is my favourite season for photography because of the low angle of the light for such long periods of the day. @Shahryar: Thanks Shahryar! Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesI love this...the light is just beautiful with the steel and glass. 26 Jun 2009 1:20pm Bonj from Jefferson City, United StatesArtistic shot of an artistic place.
