The Chimney & The AlleyPosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 27 May 2009 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. A photo from a small town near Halifax in Yorkshire where Victorian era industrial chimneys like this are still a relatively common site. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

I like the length of the photo- it parallels the chimney. 27 May 2009 11:23pm Myrtle beach from myrtle beach, United StatesI wonder if the people who walk there daily notice that? 28 May 2009 12:09am @Myrtle beach: Well despite Fred Dibnah's best efforts there's no shortage of old chimneys like this in Yorkshire so I doubt that anyone who actually lives in the town would give it a second glance :-) Richard Hollins from London, United KingdomFantastic shot Ian. Love the way you have cropped the image and used the buildings to frame the chimney. The water in the alley brings a welcome touch of light to it as well. 28 May 2009 9:14am @Richard Hollins: Thanks Richard! bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaA very cool shot and well spotted. The tones add to the gritty feel and the reflections in the puddle are intriguing.
