Krims@nline.be from Wemmel, BelgiumUtterly beautifull capture ... excellent job (is this the park in the north-sea ?) 6 Apr 2009 5:52am @Krims@nline.be: Thanks Krims! No, this is on the opposite coast in the Irish Sea off Barrow-In-Furness. @Jean-François: Thanks Jean-François! Marie LC from FranceTrès très belle photo empreinte d'une grande douceur. Should be framed! :) 6 Apr 2009 7:20am GJC from Kyoto (京都), JapanAnother remarkable shot. The glassy surfaces of the water and sky are marvelous. 6 Apr 2009 8:19am Jim (365,000 words) from Hunnebostrand, SwedenThis series is just so slightly surreal but beautiful. The calmness of the sea is really incredible. 6 Apr 2009 8:39am gavin hart from Gold Coast, AustraliaI think the subject matter in this so striking that it takes my mind away from thoughts about the technicalities of photography. Perhaps I'm not used to seeing such wind turbines but I get the impression that these look menacing and are alien to the seascape. I guess your photo must be successful if it conveys a strong feeling like that. 6 Apr 2009 9:15am Anna.C from LA ROCHELLE, Francefantastic composition and perspective ! beautiful light and water like a mirror ! great ! 6 Apr 2009 9:29am Frida from SwedenI agree with Jim, 365.000 it's a slight surreal feeling to these images. Really well spotted, photographed and processed Ian....... 6 Apr 2009 11:53am Cheryl from Texas, United Statesone of my favorite subjects to photograph are the windmill farms. this one being in the water makes it super special. well captured and composed! 6 Apr 2009 12:00pm lydia from Paris, FranceCalme et serenite , c'est une très belle image ! Bravo ! 6 Apr 2009 12:32pm bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaThis is beautiful Ian. Everything except the boat seems so very still and makes me want to hold my breath. 6 Apr 2009 1:16pm Mike Paulison from United StatesGorgeous! The overall 'smoothness' of this is really amazing. Brilliant shot! 6 Apr 2009 2:17pm MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyA very successful combination of elegance, great composition, wonderful colours, and tranquility. 6 Apr 2009 3:17pm Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United StatesThis is a fascinating shot; I like the perspective of the wind turbines as they decline into the distance. And that boat, motoring alongside, just invites us to head off toward the same horizon. 6 Apr 2009 3:48pm Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesThis is really stunning. There is such drama in this. 6 Apr 2009 5:17pm David from Mataró, SpainI really like the depth that you want to show to us using those "monsters". A good atmosphere of calm. 6 Apr 2009 6:33pm Amir from Tehran, IranAre these wind-power generators planted in the sea? Really cool. Amazing capture 6 Apr 2009 7:35pm paulski from Muncie, IN, United Statesthe simple beauty of this shot is just amazing... 6 Apr 2009 8:52pm DarkElf from Perth, Australiawow - an offshore wind farm - amazing!!! i am used to seeing them on land but this is just something else! and very well captured too - nice clarity and sharpness and an interesting composition! 7 Apr 2009 2:25am Mike from Lichfield, United KingdomOh yes !! Perfectly composed looking down the line of turbines. The boat and the wash to the left seal the deal. What makes it all the more captivating is that totally flat calm sea. Absolutely outstanding Ian. A seriously good photo and beautifully processed. 7 Apr 2009 7:39am IanSmith from London, United KingdomTotally amazing. Not many of us will be able to shoot such scenes. Congrats. 7 Apr 2009 7:52am Eleftheria from Athens, GreeceBravo, bravo, bravo, bravo, bravo! 7 Apr 2009 2:46pm Pavan Kaul from Mumbai, IndiaA beautiful picture with limited tones and the movement of the boat slicing through the stillness! 7 Apr 2009 3:21pm 613photo from United StatesI know several people who think these turbines are ugly, but I've always thought they were really beautiful. I suppose it's like pilots say -- if an airplane is "sexy" it's probably going to fly well. Is the same principle at work with power turbines? Great shot. I've never seen them out in the water like that but it makes sense to put them there. 8 Apr 2009 12:48am Nataly from Santa Monica, United StatesThis is very beautiful, Ian. This composition is great. The matched colors and the smooth and even feel and look of this image is so wonderful! 8 Apr 2009 4:05am Sarah from Suisse, SwitzerlandHad a look through your portfolio here and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. Stunning work - well done. 10 Apr 2009 9:17am Jessica from Victoria, Canadathat is INCREDIBLE! this belongs in a magizine for sure. 10 Apr 2009 11:48pm Jeff from Honolulu, United StatesI've been away for a while and am just now catching up with photos. This one borders on surreal the way the columns come out of the water and the scale of them against the sky. Excellent processing too. I love it. 15 Aug 2009 6:43am |
