Manchester PiccadillyPosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 18 March 2009 in Architecture and Portfolio. We had our first real taste of spring weather on Saturday....the light was great in Manchester. If you haven't visited Manchester in a while then I think you'll be surprised at how much this part of the city has changed in recent years. The railway station itself is on the other side of this new bridge and was refurbished in 2002 in time for the Commonwealth Games that year.
For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

Marie LC from Voiron, FranceLe cadrage est excellent, la présentation classe et les couleurs douces et belles 18 Mar 2009 6:27am Mike from Lichfield, United KingdomA very well composed photo and there's lots going on to keep your attention. The guy in the foreground adds a lot to the image and I'm glad he's not concious of the camera and looking straight at it. The weather both Saturday and Sunday was gorgeous here and it was wonderful getting out with the camera in positively spring like conditions. 18 Mar 2009 6:35am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaThis is fantastic...it has an element of danger...with the man looking back at the building with his bag as if he's waiting for something to happen, or he could have been captivated by that sun light hitting the windows, either way, it has a great story, bravo! 18 Mar 2009 11:07am Viewfinder from Bradenton, FL, United StatesThis guy looking back is perfect; you could not have paid a model to do a better job. Your timing was excellent. 18 Mar 2009 12:34pm MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyGreat architecture providing a stage for an everyday adventure: urbanism, movement, hurry, visual axes - just perfect! 18 Mar 2009 1:03pm yz from Budapest, Hungaryone could say that this is a complicated image, but all the lines and elements are so perfectly arranged into a tight composition that the complexness is gone and it is a very strong image and that man turnig back is just the cherry on the pie 18 Mar 2009 1:15pm JoeB from Brampton, CanadaSuch an expression of Manchester, a beautiful mix of the old and new. 18 Mar 2009 1:23pm Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesGreat shot. I feel that I find myself in a thriller to science fiction, perhaps because of this man who seems to escape something 19 Mar 2009 12:41am DarkElf from Perth, Australiagreat "busy" city scene! you have a great eye for composition - i like the general geometry of this photo and it has a number of good lines through it for the eyes to follow! 19 Mar 2009 5:28am stephane from United StatesNice tableau. The lights are soft and cool and the look of the pedestrian about to leave the frame but still impose its presence looking back adding to the strong diagonal of the bridge and trolley and the arch. Nice vista, nice dynamics. 25 Mar 2009 4:28pm |
