Toward the LightPosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 2 February 2009 in Documentary & Street and Portfolio. For the first 3 days of this month I'm posting some B&W street photos in response to the Aminus3 theme organised by Damon Shreiber http://electro.aminus3.com/ here's his request: "I'd like you to spend 3 days posting your best street photography in black and white. Street photography is generally understood to include images taken (usually - though not necessarily - of people) in a candid public setting such as a sidewalk, often with a normal to wide angle lens. So if you're interested, get out there and capture some decisive moments! If you are interested in participating, let me know through my contact link and I will add your name to the list when it's time." . . For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

@Zing: Thanks Zing! bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI like the contrasts in this shot Ian. The sign is so bold on it's own in the sky, the figures emerging from the bottom of the frame. It reminds me of a ride at an amusement park...and for the most part that about sums up taking buses and trains. 2 Feb 2009 5:59am @bluechameleon: Thanks Sharon....the amusement park analogy is an interesting one! @Marie LC: Thanks Marie! Scene by Sharon Photography from Kingston, Ontario, Canadathe angle on this shot is really good, you actually feel the "climb" - nice 2 Feb 2009 11:10am Cheryl from Texas, United Statesnice composition, image is nice and clear and crisp, light is amazing against the sign. very nice 2 Feb 2009 2:18pm Pixim from Nice, FranceI like much the composition and the visual angle, each day many Parisian passes under these strange architectural objects without more noticing them, that seems to me extraordinary ;) 2 Feb 2009 10:56pm Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaFine classic image - it really captures that feeling of leaving the Metro and ascending to the light! 3 Feb 2009 3:58am |
