gavin hart from Gold Coast, Australia

A creative and graphic image. The colors of the building structure contrast nicely with the desaturated curtain of rain and night sky. Good shutter speed for the rain drop capture too.

@gavin hart: Thanks Gavin!

yz from Budapest, Hungary

Wow, such a great framing! It took me a moment or so to orient myself :)

12 Dec 2008 7:46am

@yz: Thanks yz!....yes - I was worried that the photo wasn't obvious enough, but the way that the rain was illuminated by the light from the shop sign above my head was fascinating and I couldn't resist taking a photo.

Reiner from Brensbach, Germany

Frida from Sweden

Love the angle and the colors. It's nice to see someone who use the bad weather for some serious photographing. I just stay inside and curse the weather ;-)

12 Dec 2008 10:45am

@Frida: Thanks Frida....I figured out about a year ago now that bad weather is the one time when it's important to try and take photographs. Unusual weather can often produce unexpected results from the camera.

GJC from Kyoto, Japan

Clever composition ! This rain just makes a fantastic texture... well done ! How is your lens ? :-)

12 Dec 2008 12:04pm

@Florence: Thanks Florence....my lens and camera are okay fortunately - they got a bit wet but nothing too severe. I keep a microfibre cloth handy on days like this to wipe the water from the front of the lens between photos.

Framed and Shot from Houston, United States

At first sight we thought it to be some kind of fur... but it is the rain!
Creative framing and the light is excellent - as dark and wet as those rainy evenings are.
Nice work!

12 Dec 2008 1:41pm

@Framed and Shot: Thanks....it was the light from the shop sign illuminating the heavy rain that made me take the photo.

IanSmith from London, United Kingdom

Cool!
It always pays off to look at things from a different perspective. Well done.

12 Dec 2008 1:48pm

@IanSmith: Thanks Ian....it's always interesting to try something new now and then isn't it!

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

This is a really emotive shot; I have been in such places at such times and never with my camera. I am glad you took the time to look up into the falling rain and the light.
