First LightPosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 8 December 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. A photo from Morecambe Bay in NW England taken in the hour after dawn. With the sand still wet from a sudden rainstorm and the ebbing tide, the land and sea seemed to blend into one vast landscape. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

Monique from Koh Samui, ThailandBeautiful colors and lighting in this serene looking landscape. 8 Dec 2008 5:18am @Monique: Thanks Monique...the light was truly beautiful that morning! @Suzanne: Thanks Suzanne! @thierry: Thanks Thierry! @Alfredo J. Martiz J.: Thanks Alfredo....it's not very often that I try a 'high key' photo but I was pleased with the way this turned out! @Anna.C: Thanks Anna! MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyReminds me that taking a photo actually means painting with light. Very beautiful. 8 Dec 2008 9:14am @MadScientist: Thanks. Yes, I was very lucky with the light that morning. I had two tries at capturing it....this was from the second attempt using a 2 stop nd grad filter in front of the lens which allowed me to equalize the brightness between sky and land. The photos that I took without the filter were no good. @mo.langel: Thanks very much! Florence from Paris, FranceWonderful photography... I love the tracks in the sand... horizon looks so far... a very powerful image ! 8 Dec 2008 12:16pm @Florence: Thanks Florence.....I was glad that I had a wide angle lens to photograph this scene and give some idea of the huge scale of Morecambe Bay. Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainIt's an incredible beauty you have made in this picture. And the kind of whites, splendid. 8 Dec 2008 12:24pm @Paco Díaz: Thanks Paco! Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesVery nice simple composition. I love the patterns in the sand. Nice tonal range too...subtle. 8 Dec 2008 1:54pm @Laurie: Thanks Laurie....it was nice to try something a little different. Loretta from San Mateo, United StatesBeautiful beach. The white sand is wonderful and just a little black from the wood make your eye wonder away from the sand. Good job 8 Dec 2008 2:38pm @Loretta: Thanks Loretta! Frida from SwedenJust beautiful, I love the horizon far away. Lovely composition! 8 Dec 2008 2:56pm @Frida: Thanks Frida! @sorter: Thanks very much! hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongWhat an unusual "bright" image from you... yet the atmosphere is so remarkable!! Yes, it's amazingly vast! 8 Dec 2008 4:07pm @hugo poon: Thanks Hugo....I don't do many 'high key' photos so it was nice to give it a try on this one. Although I used the 10-20 wide angle lens, I don't think I've exaggerated the scale of the bay as it is a vast, impressive and beautiful empty space.
