The TuileriesPosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 31 August 2008 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. A view from the Tuileries gardens on a wet and miserable day looking back towards La Place de la Concorde marked by it's ancient egyptian obelisk. Despite the bad weather I was feeling particularly happy that afternoon having just come out of a fantastic exhibition of Richard Avedon's photos at the nearby Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume - what a fantastic and moving photographer he was. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

I'm a fan of both!:-) Wonderful tone and composition. Look forward to seeing more. 31 Aug 2008 11:35am Maxine from Rangiora, New ZealandThis is very successful. The ripples of wet paving lead the eye and then you notice the people and backdrop. It really suit B&W also. I think you had been inspired by the exhibition. 31 Aug 2008 9:12pm IanSmith from London, United KingdomKeep an eye on those horizons Ian... :o) It seems your French vacation was quite a washout, from what we've seen so far. I think this image is another that can only be appreciated larger. 31 Aug 2008 9:28pm Loretta from San Mateo, United StatesI adore your photos especially the Black and Whites 3 Sep 2008 12:42am dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Stateslove the expansive foreground here! 9 Sep 2008 12:25am |
