Wet and Cold

A photo taken in city centre Paris on a rather wet and cold day where this sparrow flew onto my hand looking for food.
Sparrow on my left hand, the long handle of a golf umbrella jammed under my elbow, and camera in my right hand.....with the heavy rain falling and the two of us sheltering under the cover of the large umbrella I felt a strange sense of companionship with the sparrow - as for her I think she was just looking for more food.

This wouldn't have been in the gardens of the Louvre would it? There's a nice old man there (practically every day) hand feeding these birds - which might explain why they are so tame.
Well done for managing to capture it, though I'm sure you must have felt guilty not rewarding the little model with a treat of something :o)

Touching, very touching, the tones are marvellous, you not only can feel the rain but you can see some on the beak, that it came to rest on your hand under the umbrella is priceless

awww...this is such a priceless moment. the bond between man and animals is strong and it is shown here really well. the B&W effect makes it an even more classy shot! great job!

It's not everyday that a sparrow is brave enough to come and feed directly from a person's hand. I love this shot :)
