Little Crosby VillagePosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 23 July 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. A photo I took last weekend in Little Crosby Village in NW England where the wheat crop is ready for harvest. The church you can see is called St Mary's and, according to Wikipedia, was designed by the world famous architect Pugin. The whole village is unusual in that it has been solely inhabited by catholics for as far back as records go in England....at least as far back as the 16th century and the introduction of Anglican Protestantism. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

There are still locations in the Lower Rhine region where you can find small villages like this one, inmidst a sea of wheat, and the tallest building is - of course - the church. 23 Jul 2008 2:18pm MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyBtw, interesting article about Pugin! I still think that historicism has to be rediscovered. 23 Jul 2008 2:23pm Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Hong KongA beautiful image, Ian.
