For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

Shun from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyYour wideangle pictures are really beautiful. How do you find all those shipwrecks? :-) 18 Jun 2008 6:08am @Shun: Thanks Shun, the north west coast of the UK near where I live and where I grew up is absolutely littered with abandoned and wrecked ships, both modern and old....here's a Wiki link to just the larger wrecks in the Blackpool beach area which is only a small stretch of coast: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackpool_shipwrecks Part of the reason for this is that the prevailing wind is from the west here and if a ship gets into trouble it's usually during a bad storm with strong onshore winds. That's what happened to this modern container ship recently at Blackpool: http://ianbramham.aminus3.com/image/2008-03-08.html Shun from Mühlheim am Main, GermanyThank you very much for your detailed answer. Hope I will have the chance to visit these great landscapes anytime soon... 18 Jun 2008 7:29am Lorraine from Gatineau, Canadahow wonderful that they don't remove it...stunning b&w as always ;) 18 Jun 2008 9:00am MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyYou're really 'blessed' with these shipwrecks, thanks for the info on Blackpool beach. Again a very beautiful shot! 18 Jun 2008 9:36am Chris/Aperture Image from United KingdomI like both of these Ian, fine mono work. 18 Jun 2008 11:36am dan from Paris, FranceBoats remains abandoned when the sea withdraws. 18 Jun 2008 12:26pm Nataly from Santa Monica, United StatesVery nice wide landscape, Ian as usual. You really mastered those. I think I like this one better the Saltmarsh from the other day. Even though the contrast and lighting in the other one is more effective, overall composition of this one is more pleasing in my opinion. 18 Jun 2008 3:11pm António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalGood image. The composition seems better balanced than that of Saltmarsh. 18 Jun 2008 7:50pm Cheryl from Texas, United Statesvery nice, have we seen this one before? interesting explanation of how they all end up in the marsh! what a photo op!! lucky you!! 18 Jun 2008 9:16pm Ted from South Wales, United KingdomDon't believe you! Come clean...you have a small boatyard in your back garden and you are manufacturing the shots!!!!???? 18 Jun 2008 10:00pm |
