Bridge over the River SevernPosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 14 June 2008 in Transportation and Portfolio. This is a photo at sunset of the 3 mile long bridge over the River Severn that links England with South Wales For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

Ana Lúcia from Leiria, PortugalWhat a place to be at! 14 Jun 2008 6:30am @Ana Lúcia: Thanks very much Ana...it was a beautiful sunset! @MahGol: Hi MahGol...thanks! @missparis: Thanks very much Veronique! @António Pires: Thanks for that António! @Margie: Thanks Margie! @Lorraine: Cheers Lorraine! @paulski: Thanks Paulski! Cheryl from Texas, United Statesyou've captured the sun setting at just the perfect time for this image!! wonderful!! 14 Jun 2008 1:05pm @Cheryl: Thanks!... I was lucky that there was a convenient spot from which to take the photo so that I got the sun behind the bridge. Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaSuperb image. Wonderful light, composition and processing. No words can do the aesthetic excellence of this justice, so I'll stop... 14 Jun 2008 1:16pm @Andrew Gould: Thanks very much Andrew...that's very kind of you! @Michael Skorulski: Thanks Michael...it was a piece of luck to be in the right spot to get this shot with suitable weather so that the setting sun wasn't obscured by cloud (a compartively rare event here in the UK :-) @Marie Le Corre: Thanks very much Marie!....I usually post process all my images to get the most out of them but this is exactly as it came from my camera apart from a small crop (it was taken with the kit lens as well) Ted from South Wales, United KingdomTop marks sir...but you could've warned me earlier I might've taken mine down! 14 Jun 2008 4:17pm @Ted: Hi Ted...well as I mentioned in my reply to your comment on my photo from yesterday, it was this shot of yours http://ted.aminus3.com/image/2008-05-28.html that made me want to see the bridge for myself in the first place. I switched to my kit lens to get this photo as the bridge looked a bit small viewed through my 10-20 lens. It's a very awkward thing to photograph isn't it! The Clifton photo is up at DPR if you want to get a sneak preview.....there's a cave halfway down the cliff face and that would be the ideal spot if I ever return there and if I can find a way to get access. In the meantime all the shots I've got are from the top of the cliff like everyone else. I used the 10-20 on that one and it was ideal. @Dimitrios: Thanks Dimitrios! NJ & SB Photography from SpainPreciosa puesta de sol, el reflejo en el agua bellísimo!! 14 Jun 2008 5:47pm @NJ & SB Photography: Thanks very much Nuria! Anthony Lambert from GermanyAH !!! I hope you like it! Paolo from Italyyou say you've been lucky, but it takes a lot of skill to be lucky like you... 14 Jun 2008 9:11pm @Paolo: Thanks Paolo...the photo itself couldn't have been more simple but I was very lucky to have got the opportunity to be there to be able to capture this image. @Alun Lambert: Thanks Alun! @akarui: Thanks Akarui! @amy: Thanks very much Amy! Klaus from Augsburg, GermanyIan, great one .. you have great b&w .. but i like also your colored captures .. very nice! 16 Jun 2008 1:07pm Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaThat is another wonderful shot, Ian. The positioning of the sun is ideal. 16 Jun 2008 6:27pm Claus from Herfølge, DenmarkIt looks amazing how you have captured the sun just when it hits the bridge! 19 Jun 2008 9:02pm Emily Ng from Studying in: Adelaide, Australia | Home:, Singaporenice highlight intersecting the bridge n sun! somehow i'm drawn to the overlaping triangles on the left 14 Oct 2008 9:13pm |
