Storm clouds forming over the lighthouse at the entrance to the River Mersey in New Brighton near Liverpool. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

Stu from Kyoto, JapanThis is a crackin' shot Ian. Love the expanse of sky and the BW conversion. 11 Jun 2008 5:24am MahGol from Tehran, Iranthis is so neat and well composed with great b/w application , thank u Ian :) 11 Jun 2008 7:06am Enrique Vidal from Palma de Mallorca, SpainReally beautiful BW, great composition. I like the texture in the foreground with the reflection of the lighthouse! 11 Jun 2008 8:12am MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyAnother great panorama. Would make a nice poster! 11 Jun 2008 8:49am Jean-Benoît Maréchal from Dinant, BelgiumThe composition is beautiful. The skylight is great ! 11 Jun 2008 8:49am [suvni:R] from Brussels, Belgiumthis will probably end up on someone's wall. very clean and great toning. 11 Jun 2008 9:21am jkjond from Grange-over-Sands, United KingdomNice initial feel - but I think you were in at least three minds as to what to do with the reflection. I don't think there is the right balance here, nor your best conversion. Ultimately, the sky distribution, in particular the dark cloud hanging on its shoulder, will make it very difficult to get a stunner out of this on - but no harm in trying! Its a hard life : ) 11 Jun 2008 9:51am Eric Fry from Houston, TX, United StatesVery evocative image, Ian. I can almost feel the solitude. 11 Jun 2008 11:21am paulski from Muncie, IN, United Statesbeautiful job here; superb composition... 11 Jun 2008 11:53am Ian Smith from London, United KingdomVery dramatic and well balanced. Like it a lot! 11 Jun 2008 12:26pm JoeB from Brampton, CanadaI think you're showing the location of the lighthouse quite well, it looks like you might have gone in the water to get the shot the extra steps do pay off. 11 Jun 2008 2:27pm Nataly from Santa Monica, United StatesIan, you live in the place made for the photographers by God. The scenery is so amazing.... This is a beautiful image! 11 Jun 2008 2:57pm Ben Brooks from Lakewood, United StatesAmazing! I love the light peaking through the clouds just at the top of the lighthouse. 11 Jun 2008 3:44pm fcofont from Valencia, SpainThat is what I say fine art photography, excellent work!! 11 Jun 2008 6:26pm dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United Stateslove the sand / mud textures here and the wonderful depth of field. the sky is fantastically moody and i also love the row of dark rocks extending into the picture from the left. 11 Jun 2008 6:53pm Guillermina from Buenos Aires, ArgentinaI definitely think you'd make a most interesting director of photography... (For a film, I mean, of course.) This photo is static and incredibly cinematic at the same time. That's what I love of your landscapes in general (and you know I'm no fan of landscapes!). 11 Jun 2008 8:18pm Franck from Montréal, CanadaGreat B&W. I just like this photo. 11 Jun 2008 9:32pm Cheryl from Texas, United Statesthe broken reflection looks like it's low tide? beautiful image! 12 Jun 2008 3:06am DarkElf from Perth, Australiastriking image! great contrast between the water surface and sky and the lighthouse stands nicely apart form the rest... 12 Jun 2008 4:38am shiv ahuja from new Delhi, Indiawonderful...! 12 Jun 2008 7:45pm |
