Early morning light on the River Crake as it flows into Morecambe Bay For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

Nataly from Santa Monica, United StatesThis is a very peaceful image, Ian! Meditative... I think I am starting to see in all your work the ability to cover a very large space out of which you manage to pull many various textures out that are very well balanced and complimentary of each other. And that is what makes your images rich and full. 2 Jun 2008 5:41am @Nataly: Thanks Nataly...I'm pleased that you see those things in my photos as my ambition with these types of landscape shots is always to get as wide a tonal range as possible whilst still keeping the shot balanced and true to the spirit of the original scenery. Stu from Kyoto, JapanThis is a lovely, soft image Ian. Love the composition and those clouds are great. You're b&w is, as usual, magnificent too. 2 Jun 2008 5:49am @Stu: Thanks Stu....it was great to get the opportunity to take a photo with such lovely soft misty light. @MahGol: Thanks MahGol...that's very kind of you! Lorraine from Gatineau, Canadaearly morning in b&w, the mist, the light...it's extremely calm and beautiful :) 2 Jun 2008 7:56am @Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine...it was a beautiful misty morning (very early and at the end of a 2 hour drive) @Alun Lambert: Thanks very much Alun! yz from Budapest, HungarySubtle and beautiful. I can imagine this as a 2m big blowup on the wall. 2 Jun 2008 9:26am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaDelicate and full of detail. The love the way the tones vary across the frame. Beautiful! 2 Jun 2008 12:27pm Guillermina from Buenos Aires, ArgentinaInteresting sets of lines... The verticals unveiling the horizontals, round and gentle... Great shades of grey. 2 Jun 2008 12:49pm MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanySuper shot of this beautiful landscape, B/W works so well here! 2 Jun 2008 12:55pm riesenriel from NetherlandsA wonderful calm scene you captured, like the view of this place. 2 Jun 2008 1:36pm Jeffster from Long Island, United StatesBeautiful & serene b&w image. Coincidentally, I am listening to Yanni in the background here at work. All I need is a cup of herbal tea, and I will become one with my keyboard. 2 Jun 2008 2:34pm hugo poon from Hong KongYes, beautiful and tranquil... and what I enjoy even more is the somewhat dreamlike atmosphere that you've captured! A wonderful pic. 2 Jun 2008 3:39pm Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesWell captured. The softness of light in this image is part of its overall beauty. 2 Jun 2008 4:45pm Russ Devan from New Hanover, United StatesGorgeous. I love the moody light. Did you add a vignette in PS or as filter attachment? 2 Jun 2008 4:56pm @Russ Devan: Russ, to answer your question I didn't use a filter attachment. I did a tiny bit of burning in the sky areas in PS and that was about it apart from the obvious B&W conversion and tone. This image had a pretty strong natural vignette across the bottom from the sillouetted reeds and the mist shrouded sun provided a highlight that threw the surrounding clouds into compartive darkness. NJ & SB Photography from SpainQue bonito, has captado un ambiente de paz y tranquilidad excelente, buen B&W !! 2 Jun 2008 6:59pm ocorti from Blonay, SwitzerlandSubtle atmosphere. Great composition.
