ShadowsPosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 28 February 2008 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. The end of another Winter day in the North of England....I just had to stop for a second and take a photo of the dramatic shadows. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

GJC from Kyoto, JapanThe kind of photo you do well. You like those long shadows and you always see interesting compositional possibilities for them. I like the distortion of the sidewalk in the foreground; reminds me of the Japanese woodblock print's use of perspective. 28 Feb 2008 10:19am Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesBeautiful shot, Ian! The long shadows and the warm glow of the late afternoon sun combine for a lovely scene. 28 Feb 2008 10:22am bm from Budapest, HungaryGreat shadows indeed. Nice use of the wide-angle, makes it look even more dramatic. 28 Feb 2008 10:42am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaI don't know what awes me more: This sumptuous, wonderful shadows and perfect photo or the fact that this is your winter! I'm crying and as meatloaf sang... Icicle instead of tears 28 Feb 2008 12:08pm Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesYour instincts were perfect. This is a powerful streetshot with those shadows. BTW, I like the ways you frame your photos here, today's included. 28 Feb 2008 12:51pm Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaThe 15 mm sure gives it a great look. Nice composition. 28 Feb 2008 6:17pm Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaWonderful lighting - and that wide angle of yours is really great! 2 Mar 2008 4:04am |
