'The Lowry', ManchesterPosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 19 February 2008 in Architecture and Portfolio. The use of colour is fantastic in this building by Architect Michael Wilford. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesBeautiful shot! Superb color, excellent detail and I love that you've capture the shot with the two people in it, which provides scale to the scene. I'm also particularly drawn to the handrail to the right side of the stairs and its slight reflection washing onto the orange. 19 Feb 2008 10:42am @Ron: Thanks Ron!....I'm still learning with the lens I used on this shot - it's an extreme wide angle Sigma 10-20. It's fantastic for landscape photos but much more difficult for architectural shots. Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesHis use of color, your capture of it -- both masterful! I love the layered angles you've captured on the two levels of this space. 19 Feb 2008 12:34pm @Viewfinder: Thanks very much....the colour is astonishing isn't it! Lorraine from Gatineau, Canadaand captured magnificently by you, phenomenal angle...it's edgy and vibrant! 19 Feb 2008 12:40pm @Lorraine: Thanks very much Lorraine....it's a very photogenic building that I've visted several times now, always finding something new to photograph. @JLT: Thanks very much JLT! @isabel: Thanks very much Isabel! tom from GermanyWow. Makes me wish to visit this building myself. Interesting architecture and colors. 19 Feb 2008 9:28pm @tom: Thank very much Tom!.....It's a building with great 3 dimensional use of space and the colours are so vibrant! Will from Gainesville, United Statesamazing colors and great perspective and lines:) 20 Feb 2008 2:14am amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaWow! Wow! Eye popping colours but your image of this is FANtastic! Excellently done with the stairs to the left and with the 2 people to give scale.
