SlipwayPosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 17 December 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. This is the third photo in a mini-series of 5 shots that I took a few days ago in and around the ship building town of Barrow-In-Furness which is located on the NW coast of England on the opposite side of the bay from Morecambe. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

@Judit: Thanks very much Judit! @Elle: Thanks very much Elle! - I love diagonal lines in photos and couldn't resist this one! @Lorraine: Cheers Lorraine! Paulski from Muncie, United StatesVery nice capture; love the intersection of the post-industrial and the natural... 17 Dec 2007 12:54pm @Paulski: Thanks very much Paulski ! Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesFabulous series! I really loved the last one, but they are all beautifully executed photos. 17 Dec 2007 1:27pm @Laurie: Thanks Laurie - I had so much fun taking these photos - I hope it shows! Guillermina from Buenos Aires, ArgentinaAgree with Paulski above, though I find that intersection somewhat scary... I can perfectly tell what this is, all the more so with your caption, and yet I cannot help but thinking of a sunken bridge... There's something apocalyptic (or otherworldly, or catastrophic maybe) in the atmosphere of this photo. Simply masterful. 17 Dec 2007 3:31pm @Guillermina: I'm not sure what to say really other than to thank you for leaving such lovely comments about the photo - I believe that atmosphere, emotion and a sense of our humanity are all that anyone of us can hope to convey in our photos and I'm so pleased that you found some of those qualities here. I do try and portray my feelings in my photos but its not an easy thing to do is it. @yiannis krikis: Thanks Yiannis! Barbara from Florida, United StatesExcellent composition, I like the angle of the ramp. Great colors. 17 Dec 2007 7:53pm @Barbara: Thanks very much Barbara! @Damon Schreiber: Thanks Damon! |
