A group of schoolchildren listening to a sound and light show at Manchester's Imperial War Museum using archive photos which tries to explain, as best it can in language they can understand, the terrible consequences of war.
This is a letter from a soldier to his small child as he leaves for war perhaps never to return.
This was designed for children - I have 2 myself but I saw it without them. I found it so sad and moving that I am still thinking about it now

Very moving. Perhaps one day wars won't be necessary. Perhaps, if the children grow up to live in peace. But I fear that may never happen. It starts so young when children pick on one another over silly things on the playground and grows from there into adulthood. It just seems like an incurable human condition, from the playgrounds to the battlefields.

"… I might not return …" Makes me feel sad. I'd like to see this photo together with the one from yesterday in an exhibition.
