ManchesterPosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 5 October 2007 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. Photo of the new Beetham Tower with the Bridgewater Canal in the foreground. Following on from Monday's shot I'm posting some photos over the next few days of the area of Manchester (UK) where the railway bridges at the edge of the city centre cross the 18th century Bridgewater Canal. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

ColNed Pictures from Amersfoort, NetherlandsAbsolutely great choice to do it in B&W it help to show the beauty of the architecture. 5 Oct 2007 7:01am Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesI like all the curves and arches in this shot! That tall building in the background is kinda weird looking with the one side going up. I don't remember even seeing this building while i was there. But i was only in Manchester for a Day. I stayed mostly in Central London where i attended Birkbeck University. 5 Oct 2007 12:11pm Brian from United StatesLovely image--a really good monochrome study. I agree with Rabbit--the building is striking, but seems somehow incongruent with the surroundings. 5 Oct 2007 2:32pm Anne from White Rock, CanadaLove this one as well! It really is a mix of ancient and modern! The b and w is lovely for these images in Manchester. Wish I could visit home soon - so many old places I want to photograph! ;-) 5 Oct 2007 8:47pm |
