@Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine! - the bit I couldn't convey with this photo was the intense noise coming from the live band that were playing for all they were worth!

@Rabbit: They had one of those glitter balls on the ceiling reflecting dots of light everywhere like crazy so you are right on the mark with your comments - thanks!
(It took me quite a few goes to get this shot - eventually what worked was turning the flash off and using iso1600!)

@Markus: Thanks Markus - I was pleased that I managed to capture the effect of the light. i had to turn the flash off as it was killing the glitterball speckled light on the floor. 1/6th sec is my record for a handheld shot - i couldn't even use the balcony to rest on as it was vibrating to the beat of the music from the live band!

I'm very impressed with the ISO at 1600 that noise is not very apparent in your capture.

@Rabbit: Thanks Rabbit - I bought thi compact acmera - the Fuji F31, as it had a reputation for being good in low light and I wanted it mainly for work for taking record photos on dark unlit internal building sites.
