ChesterPosted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 31 August 2007 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. following on form the theme of the last few days this is another photo from the city of Chester which is in England at the point where it meets North Wales. As you can see here, the city has a double row of shops, one on top of the other. They date back originally to medieval times. What I like about them is that you get great views down onto the shoppers at street level from along the whole length of the street on both sides. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaI would be a brunette sitting in a corner table with full view of the street ahead. I would drink coffee and have my cam and a big grin on my face :) 31 Aug 2007 10:30am @Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine - I love those twin street levels where so much is going on! Brian from United StatesOutstanding work! You've captured the bustle, energy, and life of this street perfectly. 31 Aug 2007 1:18pm @Brian: Thanks Brian! Shuva Brata Deb from Hyderabad, IndiaI love the fact that this shot has a lot of details. The man walking creates a good foreground layer and makes it a very interesting composition. I am dead sure that your choice of presenting it in b/w is also correct. 31 Aug 2007 2:52pm @Shuva Brata Deb: Thanks very much! Ralf Kesper from Attendorn, GermanyThis is real streetlife...a very good shot. Good BW-work! 31 Aug 2007 3:37pm @Ralf Kesper: Thanks Ralf! Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesWonderful! That looks like a really great city. Lots of activity, beautiful architecture, and wonderful shops. 31 Aug 2007 3:58pm @Laurie: Thanks Laurie! - I think that its designated a city because it has a cathedral but in reality it has the feel of a large town (and is all the better for it) rather than a ful blown city. Population is only about 80,000. Lost Valley from CanadaI really like the feel of this!! I wish I could be there eating watching the people go by!! 31 Aug 2007 4:30pm |
