Bashful Alley (1 of 3)Posted by Ian Bramham (Manchester, United Kingdom) on 25 August 2007 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. The town of Lancaster on the North West of England is at least 1,000 years old and is full of ancient little alleyways that run between the main commercial shopping streets. When I came across one called ''Bashful Alley'' I couldn't resist going in to have a look. For purchasing high quality archival prints of any of these photos you can send me an email by clicking here or by going to MY NEW WEBSITE where prices are listed in the gallery sections under each individual photo. Links to the websites of other photographers whose work I love and who have all helped me enormously over a long period of time. I find the work of all 3 to be inspirational.

Sidonie from Sydney, AustraliaFull of bash? What was "bash"? Great shot of ye olde England - the soot on the church brings out the b&w tonal range really well. 25 Aug 2007 5:46am @Sidonie: It means shy or timid! Lorraine from CanadaYou can do no wrong....I love this photo soooo much! I want to be there... 25 Aug 2007 9:21am @Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine - you made me look anew at the photo. maybe I'll post some more from Basful Alley after No3. @Evi: Thanks Evi :-) Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesI really love the names they use in England they are so very, well..."English"! This is a great find. Very nice work on this. 25 Aug 2007 3:08pm @Laurie: Laurie - names like this one make us smile too! @Organic Mum: Thanks very much! @filipe franco: Thanks Franco - I guess we all forget how street photos that seem so common place to the original poster in his own country can seem exotic to someone from far away lands! |
