This is the second photo in the series taken in Annecy in the French Alps.
The crystal clear water from the lake in yesterday's shot starts to flow out through streets of the old town.

The colours are straight out of the camera but with the Fuji F31 set to chrome mode. These are some of my first photos with the camera when I was mostly using chrome setting which boosts colours in camera.

Annecy is a wonderful place and the water is gorgeously clear. However it hasn't always been like that. It used to be the dumping ground for sceptic waste right up to the sixties and threatened the health of locals. In 1962 a huge clean up operation began. All raw sewage pipes were closed off and at great expense and technical difficulty proper sewage pipes were laid. The operation was so successful that Annecy is now reputed to have the cleanest lake in Europe with an abundance of thriving wildlife.
