Poppies

The flowers on these beautiful transparent poppies in our front garden last for just a few hours each morning, only to be replaced by a set of new flowers the next day.

Thanks very much.
I am no expert on poppies but I know that these particular ones don't produce the large fat seed pods that are are needed to produce opium.
Also I think opium poppies have a much bigger flower head than these.

well, this image just couldn't be left alone Ian, there are so many flower shots, and also so many bad ones (if I may say so) but this one is very original and it belongs to one of my favourites

Yes, I don't own a diital SLR and Picasa2 was an easy and interesting way of achieving concentration on the main subject using the blur tool - well spotted!
